What is the Home Enthronement or House-to-House Evangelism?
The family basically is initiated to pray together especially the praying of the Rosary. The Word of God is then read and the family is asked to meditate upon Jesus’ invitation to “love one another”. This leads into a reconciliation process where parents and children are encouraged to openly express their love and forgiveness for each other. This process hopes to strengthen love and understanding in the home and reaffirms mutual support for one another. After each member has expressed his love and forgiveness for his family, the picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary is processed around the house before it is finally enthroned on the family altar. In this simple procession, the parents carry the pictures of the Two Hearts and the children follow behind carrying the Bible, crucifix, and the candle. Holy Water is sprinkled, as the family processes from room to room, as a sign of renewal of their baptismal promises. Every member of the family is then imposed with the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel to seal their consecration to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart. The family afterwards is invited to attend the Alliance of the Two Hearts family prayer meeting once a week to deepen their devotion to the Two Hearts and increase their knowledge of the Word of God. Finally, they are encouraged to join other families who have been enthroned with the Two Hearts to attend the All-Night Communion of Reparation Vigil.
